WHAT IS SOUL WORK?

“The most divine art is that of healing:

it must occupy itself with the soul as much as the body.”

(Pythagoras)

My intention through soul work is to create a safe, intentional, creative space where you can explore whatever is most pressing and ‘alive’ in your life from the perspective of your soul - from the viewpoint of your deepest self - leading to new awareness, understandings and actions.

This is a space for you, for your process, for your curiosity and self-reflection, and perhaps for your transformation. It is a time for you - to slow down, to breathe, to think, to feel, to sense and intuit, to contemplate and reflect on your inner and outer life, and to see things more clearly.

Soul work offers you the opportunity to listen more deeply and honestly to your self, to look at things differently, to make connections and join the dots, to get a sense of the deeper story of your soul’s journey and its direction, to explore your life’s meaning and purpose, and to connect with the quiet voice and wisdom of your soul.

And in this process to be skilfully accompanied, supported and sometimes challenged in deep service to you, to your soul, and to your life.

On this journey my soul walks besides yours with intuitive support and soul guidance as you explore how to live more heartfully, mindfully and soulfully. This is a space where we connect soul to soul.

We honour the deep Mystery of Life and explore your unique place and purpose in it. We look into the forces and flows of energy that animate and influence your life through the web of your relationships - from within, from others, from Nature, from Spirit and the Beyond.

You may begin to see the meaningful interconnectedness of all things, and explore the profound implications of that reality in relation to you, to your soul’s path and to your life in this moment. You may get a clearer sense of your soul’s story, and see that you are, and have always been, supported by Life along the way.

“So it’s not a matter of fixing anything broken,

it’s finding the wholeness that is underneath the brokenness.”

(Dr Gabor Maté)

I offer you my intuitive support, guidance and coaching in the ways of the soul. My approach to soul work is a synthesis of various methodologies.

I trained and worked as a Psychosynthesis psychotherapist (Dip Couns & MA Psych from the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London). I have had decades of life experience with a focus on my own soul journey, and I recently completed a year’s training for an Advanced Diploma in Coaching (with Wise Goose coaching training).

I have developed this way of ‘Soul Work’ through integrating three interconnected approaches: traditional holistic life-coaching; a more therapeutic ‘depth coaching’ style informed by the psychospiritual context of Psychosynthesis psychotherapy; and Soul Process Work (developed by the American spiritual psychologist Dr Thomas Yeomans) which focuses on facilitating the awareness of, connection with, and expression of, the soul.

Soul work involves soul-centred coaching, soul guidance and soul-aligned therapeutic support, and aims to help you awaken to, align with, embody, and express your soul in the world. Soul work may touch on and work with any aspect of the rich mosaic that is you.

But at the core of it is your deepening connection to you heart and to the Love that you are. Soul work is HEART WORK, the developing of heartfulness, as your heart and feelings are the gateway to your soul. And without love there is no true healing, no real connection to self or others, or to Earth, Spirit and the Divine.

As you hold the context of soul and explore your life and uniqueness through this lens - asking ‘Who am I as a soul?’, and ‘What does my soul want of me now?’ - this work supports you in realising and expressing your soul-nature, and in so doing to more fully realise and live your potentials.

We are all on a journey of soul realisation.

The good news is that your soul is, and always has been, expressing itself as you in your life. Though as you become more aware of, and take action to consciously support this process, you are able to more effectively align with and facilitate the unfolding journey of your soul.

Through this work you begin to see your life with the eyes of soul. You see the deeper patterns in your life path that have always been there. This is like the shift in perception needed to see the hidden image in those old ‘Magic Eye’ 3D picture books.

Beneath the seemingly random patterns of your life there is a clear and defined shape - the pattern of your soul’s story. With this soul perspective you gain a new way of seeing and of understanding yourself, your life path, and the world you live in. This allows you to more deeply align your life with your soul, to embody it, and express it more effectively and meaningfully in this world in line with your soul’s purpose.

Alongside this inner focus, soul work also explores the wider web of relationships in which you live - your family of birth, your relationships with your own family now, your friends and work relationships, and your wider community.

Soul work explores the state of your connection with your environment, with Nature and the Earth. and your relationship with the wider cosmos, with Spirit and with the Divine.

We all live our lives within an interconnected web of relationships. The quality and health of our relationships to these wider systems in which we live shows much about the state of our soul. These relationships are also an essential source of love, support and healing on the journey of your soul.

And as you do the inner work necessary to align more with your soul and to live more soulfully, the transformation spreads out through this web of interconnections into the world around you. For the inner and outer are energetically connected.

Inner work affects the outer world, and outer action affects the inner,

“And what mystery journey will unfold when we answer the alluring and dangerous summons now emanating from the human soul, from the dream of the Earth, and from an intelligent, evolving ensouled Universe?”

(Bill Plotkin in ‘Wild Mind’)
